Fees - Dr. Patrick Gavin - MRI / CT Reading ServiceEffective January 1, 2006, if I read all your cases, my fees are $110/exam for MRI/CT consultations per primary site, and $55 for each additional site(s), and/or for stat interpretations (within one hour). Hard copy studies can be mailed in for consultation and results will be returned within 24 hours of receipt, but we must charge an additional $20 for return handling and mailing services. For example, a brain is one exam ($110) and an additional C-spine would be $55 extra if included at the same time. The spine is divided into two sections: C1 through T2, and T3 to S3. Bilateral joints are considered two studies. The most efficient means of exam transfer is to create a direct transfer of the original DICOM files to my individual workstation. I can provide you with the needed transfer information. Turnaround TimeTurnaround time will be the next day after we have received the patient information and the study images. On all cases, you will get a written report e-mailed back, or if you do not have e-mail we will fax your report directly to your office. In emergency cases, we can give an immediate call back report in addition to the e-mail report for the additional $55 stat fee. Patient/client information must be forwarded to us via e-mail or fax. Please copy emails to me and the transcription service at prg@vetmed.wsu.edu and rollinghills_cs@msn.com such that both of us are always alerted to the cases. On occasions when I am traveling and unavailable, Dr. Russ Tucker, DACVR, will provide backup service. ProtocolsI also request that our small animal scanning protocols be followed, as I have had several experiences where the MR operator was unfamiliar with animal scanning and tried to adapt human protocols for animals, resulting in non-diagnostic studies, much to the frustration of the client and clinician. I have a lot of experience imaging and consider my refined protocols the most productive sequences eliminating unnecessary scans and prolonged anesthesia time for patients. I can send you a copy of our protocols if you elect to use our service. Give me a call if you have other questions. I hope this answers most of your questions. Contact Information
